How to select an helmet & measure your head
Yes, include the hair!
A helmet, to be truly efficient needs to fit just right. If your head moves inside your strapped helmet, it will rattle under shock. Not good!
S1 helmets not only developed a patented “EPS Fusion Foam” for better protection, it also provides 3 shell sizes and color coded sizing liners for a perfect fit.
Know your head size, know your color (liner size)!
Measuring the head’s circumference, above your eyebrows will give you a pretty close idea of which combo shell/liner you will need.
A 22 inches head should perfectly fit the regular size Lifer helmet with Large (black) liners. While a smaller kid, with a 18.5 inch head - the smallest S1 fit - will bear a “Mini Lifer” with X-small (Grey) liners.
Liners are secured with velcro and are supa easy to remove or place correctly. S1 helmets come with 2 liners, one for the front of your helmet, one for the back. The back liner has a longer ‘tips” and is slightly narrower. Make sure to read the instructions and position your liners right, but it’s all pretty easy!
For the perfect fit, try out different liners until you find your golden color. Every head, every skull is shaped differently, a combo of different color liners in front and on the back, might be the call for you! You are unique, and you can customize your helmet to fit your head, just right.
Dreadlocks? Do not fear, you can adapt your helmet to your hairstyle! Shave your head, no need for a new helmet, just get thicker liners to compensate. No rattles, no need for a new helmet with each new hair trend!
… and if sweaty head is an issue for you, S1 also provides hand washable liners to keep it safe and clean too!
Just take out your washable liners after a particular sweaty session and give them to your mum… or just soak it it soapy water, rinse & let dry (mum will be thankful not to have to handle that nastiness).
Just remember whatever size/shape head you have, your brain is precious, protect it, wear a “Perfect Fit” helmet, Get a “Lifer”, be a “Lifer”!
